Going My Way. Today

A Spiritual Blog by Christopher Garguilo

When to take down your Christmas tree and decorations.

I read a post today where someone asked when do you take down your Christmas tree and decorations. Quite a few said they took it down Christmas evening. If so, then you are celebrating commercial Christmas and not the religious one.

Christmas does not begin on November 1st when Mariah Carey starts singing her Christmas tunes. Christmas doesn’t even start with the first Sunday of Advent, which is the preparation of the coming of Jesus.

Christmas starts on Christmas Eve and lasts to the Epiphany, the arrival of the Three Kings, which we celebrate on January 6th, the 12th day Christmas. Some Christians will continue the celebration for another week.

So still enjoy your tree, decorations, lights, and carols until then without guilt or anxiety!

About Me

I had no maritime experience, but I rose to be the Chief Secretary to the Admiralty under both King Charles II and King James II through patronage, diligence, and my talent for administration.
